PRP Plasmolifting Therapy - A Solution for Chronic Pain Syndrome

A series of articles on application of PRP Plasmolifting technology

Dear patients! I have written these articles especially for you to offer an original explanation of my medical technologies based on the use of a person’s autologous blood plasma and to prompt you to receive qualified medical care. Unfortunately, some doctors use my trademarks, technology names and my name unscrupulously, while distorting my protocols and misleading patients, which results in the latter’s false expectations.

In this article I would like to focus on a simple and inexpensive way to relieve joint and muscle pain using one’s own plasma. Schmerztherapie (from "schmerz" - "pain" in German) translates as a pain treatment. In the context of my PRP Plasmolifting method, this means injecting a person’s autologous blood plasma into soft periarticular tissues or muscles of the back and neck to eliminate pain. To remind you, Plasmolifting is the development of autohemotherapy methods that have been successfully used for medical purposes for 160 years.

The effect may sometimes occur after the very first procedure, within an hour; however, it normally takes a course of 4-6 procedures to see the results. It obviously depends on an individual patient and on correct technique and tactics of the doctor. A long period of pain syndrome usually requires a similarly long treatment that involves a lot of patience from both parties.

Injections should never be administered straight into the joint. Such necessity is extremely rare and often leads to reactive synovitis and panic in both doctor and patient. So, please pay attention to where the doctor has studied, if he or she has studied my protocols and obtained my certificated, and if he or she uses test tubes and consumables, selected and recommended by me.

Schmerztherapie reduces the pain, first and foremost. However, the plasma projects its influence within 20cm from the injection point, therefore the therapeutic effect of the procedure extends to the cause of pain, for example, osteoarthritis or sciatica.

The principal medical specialists who can perform this procedure are neurologists, general practitioners, and in some countries, nursing staff.

The entire procedure usually takes 30 minutes. More precisely, from the moment of blood collection into a specialized tube to injection pass 5-8 minutes. The doctor should carefully palpate the soft tissues to identify the most painful points and marks them, then injects the plasma into marked spots.

The high cost of a single procedure is often unjustified, as more visits to a clinic may be required to achieve a stable and reliable result.

Why does plasma work best in relieving pain? Modern medicine offers several methods that have serious drawbacks or side effects that our own plasma does not have. These methods include:

- painkillers that irritate the stomach (leading up to ulcerative bleeding) and reduce blood clotting);

- long-acting glucocorticosteroids, such as kenalog, depomedrol, triamcinolone, that cause bleeding, adversely affect the function of the adrenal glands, atrophy tissues, etc.;

- local anesthetics and blockades that are effective for only up to 3-4 hours;

- operations that are poorly designed and resorted to out of desperation.

The exception is hip replacement, which is successfully performed worldwide.

Schmerztherapie has no such negative effects. You would agree that it is very unlikely that your own blood plasma should harm you! Plasma can be used before, after, or even instead of surgery.

Please, send us your questions and suggestions, and stay healthy!

Yours sincerely,

Dr Renat Akhmerov, Professor of Medicine
